George Nowack is a Tax Advisor and Registered Investment Advisor Representative of Hunter Street Investment Advisors. As an Enrolled Agent (EA), George is a federally licensed tax practitioner with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before any office of the IRS, and can assist with tax preparation, tax audits, and other tax-related matters. George held the position of US Revenue Agent (Examiner) with the United States Treasury Department from 2010-2025. George's investment management career began in 1998 and includes experience serving clients in a variety of roles in many different environments. Recent advisory experience includes the ownership of Ashworth Financial, a North Carolina registered investment advisor which was merged into Hunter Street Investment Advisors in September 2019. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Risk Manager within the Capital Markets Division of the Federal National Mortgage Association. In 2003 George worked as the Director of Investments with Horizon Trust & Investments. He began his investment advisory career as an Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager with First Union National Bank.
George earned his undergraduate degree in Finance at The University of North Florida. He then completed his MBA at the University of Notre Dame. In 2008, George completed his Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University.
George has developed skills and expertise in the areas of personal finance, wealth management, income taxation and enterprise risk management. He lives in southern Wake County and is vested in the welfare of the Raleigh community. George has volunteered in the IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Preparation) program as well as Budget counseling at his local church. George currently holds the following FINRA qualifications: Series 65, Registered Investment Adviser Examination.
